What are the health benefits of losing weight?For overweight individuals, losing weight (as little as 5 to 10% can improve health by lowering high blood pressure, blood glucose levels and cholesterol levels.
How many calories will I be consuming?Your energy, or calorie needs depend on a number of factors, including your current weight, activity level, age and gender. Your counselor will help you determine the proper calorie level for you and recommend a multivitamin/mineral supplement.
How much weight can I expect to lose?It is generally safe to average between 2-3 pounds per week. During the first weeks of the diet, you will probably lose more than 2-3 pounds weekly because you’re losing water. That’s normal
What will my meal plan be like?Our Eating Plan have been uniquely designed to combine grocery foods with protein enhanced products to provide optimum nutrition for healthy weight loss. The balance of protein, fat and carbohydrates found in our eating plan are not typically achievable in reduced calorie plans, therefore you can experience a greater impact on weight loss.
What is BMI?BMI stands for Body Mass Index, which is determined by a person’s height and weight. It determines whether a person’s weight is ideal for their height or if it makes them overweight or obese
A BMI of 25 thru 30 says that a person is clinically overweight.
A BMI of 30 thru 34 says that a person is clinically obese.
A BMI of 35 and over says that a person is morbidly obese.
On the other hand, a BMI between 18 and 24 is considered to be ideal

What are the Ideal Fat Percentages? A. For males is anywhere between 10% and 20%
B. For females is anywhere between 15% and 25%
Do I have to eat all my cookies?All cookies or equivalents and the dinner should be eaten because all the calories are specifically counted. The deficit of only one cookie can result in slowing down or shutting down of the body’s metabolism where no weight will be lost. We are supplying the amount of protein the body needs daily. If the body does not receive enough protein through the diet it does not get it from the fat stores, it goes to the protein stores, which are muscles.
If I lost weight, would it make a difference in my high blood pressure or the medication I take to treat it?Yes, weight loss actually helps reduce high blood pressure- sometimes to a level where you could reduce or even eliminate your blood pressure medication entirely.
I have diabetes. Can losing weight lower my blood sugar?Yes, losing weight can lower your blood sugar if you have type 2 diabetes. Just a 10% weight loss can greatly affect your blood sugar and possibly even minimize your use of diabetic medications.
Can I reduce high cholesterol by losing weight?Yes, you can boost your chances of lowering your cholesterol with a three – prong approach: modify your fat intake, exercise regularly and lose weight.
Can being overweight make me more susceptible to cancer?A. It can increase your risk for many different cancers, including colon, breast and endometrial cancer.
I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea, which causes me to snore a lot and sometimes stop breathing during sleep. Will it help if I lose weight?For those with sleep apnea, even modest weight reduction may alleviate the need for long – term therapy or upper – airway surgery.
